As the current spokesmodels for M.A.C.'s Viva Glam makeup, Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper should totally be present on the massive billboards above the cosmetic company's flagship construction in Times Square, but then it also just feels right.
Cyndi Lauper, the Lady Gaga of the late 1980s/early 1990s, has an image and a personality that goes right along with the tourist-friendly side of Times Square; she's older, sure, but the lights are still bright and the colors are still loud. Lady Gaga similarly represents the naughtier edge of Times Square, bringing a bit of the red light district appeal along with her pop appeal and bedroom eyes. It's only too funny that they're perched right above Mickey Mouse, on the plywood for the World of Disney store.
