Before Lady Gaga broke out, Amy Winehouse was the strangely dressed darling of fashion. Now she and her oft-copied beehive are back and collaborating with Fred Perry for a capsule collection planned to launch in October. The 17-piece collection is predictably girly and retro with a mostly black and pink selection of twin sets, pencil skirts, capri pants, a mini bowling dress, and lots of polo shirts.
"Amy has a unique sense of style that reflects the brand's own historical reference points," said Richard Martin, Fred Perry’s marketing director. Fred Perry has grown from a retro sportswear label to a popular streetwear brand thanks in part to collaborations with other music figures like Paul Weller and Damon Albarn.
