When our far-flung relatives think of New York fashion, they usually think of Sex and the City, and for the upcoming year that will probably mean draped asymmetrical jersey and metallic accessories if Net-a-Porter and Sarah Jessica Parker have their way.
The fashionable online boutique just launched Parker's debut collection for Halston Heritage, and with the line's accessible price point and inevitable SATC-based media saturation, soon all of America will be able to look like That 70's Show. Hey, there are worse things to look like. Anybody remember That 80's Show?
Under Sarah Jessica Parker, Halston Heritage, the lower-priced spinoff of the Halston Collection designed by Marios Schwab, is sticking with a more literal interpretation of Halston's 1970s style, so there is a lot of draped jersey and more than one jumpsuit. Several of the pieces will turn up in Sex and the City 2 when it comes out at the end of May, including the white stretch jersey V-neck dress Parker wears in the promotional posters, which is currently available for $325.
The pleated orange one pictured above is the most expensive thing in the collection at $895. It's also available in white and makes us want to twirl. The rest of the clothes are more in the $350-500 range and the handbags are priced from $195 to $420. What do you think of Halston's lower-priced little sister?
