When Century 21 opened in a Rego Park shopping center last week, lines to enter wrapped around the mall. It probably didn't hurt that Kohl's opened the same day, or that both stores held huge launch sales. That makes three Kohl's for New York City, by the way—the other two are in Brooklyn and Staten Island—but rumors about the chain's eventual arrival in Manhattan haven't panned out to anything serious just yet.
