Immediately after reports first surfaced about Burberry opening in an Upper West Side location, we noticed the appearance of a temporary wooden storefront at 160 Columbus signaling that construction is indeed underway. A building permit sign confirms that the space will house Burberry's more casual and (relatively) moderately priced Brit collection. The store will fill the second of the three spaces left empty by a Reebok sports store. The first is of course the love-it-or-hate-it Uggs shop and the third is still for rent (we'll take guesses on what stores readers think should fill that space). The Burberry Brit will join retailers like Reiss London, Kiehl's, MAC, Intermix and Wink NYC on the stretch of Columbus below 72nd.
