We are entering the home stretch for the semi-annual blowout Barneys Warehouse Sale, and although the selection isn't as great as in some past seasons, the extra discounts have hit early enough to inspire everyone to return and give it a second (or third, in our case) chance.
First stop? Shoes. Yesterday started a full round of new discounts on top of the sale prices, and here's how it looks: Women's shoes and boots are an extra 40% off, men's sneakers are an extra 60% off (making most like $30), and men's shoes and boots are an extra 30% off. If you've ever wanted to own a pair of Alaia heels but never wanted to pay four digits, now is the time to go get them.
Up to our elbows in the likes of Pierre Hardy, Sigerson Morrison, Lanvin, and Givenchy with the occasional Proenza Schouler, Marni and Balenciaga heel thrown in, we eventually emerged with the black Prada F/W 2009 wader boots, complete with calf garters. We immediately slipped into their glove-like perfect fit and put them to work in last night's slushy mess. The final deal for these? Down from $1,300 to $300.
Sale associates are tight-lipped about further discounts, but since an extra 40% off of shoes is already pretty nice, we only expect for men's shoes to hit this level eventually and maybe, just maybe, another 10% will be knocked to bring the discount to 50% off for the weekend.
If you see a deeper discount tomorrow or Sunday—the final day—let everyone know in the comments!
