It was just a few weeks ago that we were trying to come up with a tasteful way to describe model David Agbodji's gleaming bare behind in the windows of Calvin Klein on Madison Avenue. Now, blog Another Normal reports that the store has undergone gluteal-reduction surgery, spiking the rear-view shots for some much tamer images of a reclining, fully-clothed damsel in a white dress.
Despite the Agbodji campaign's potential for controversy, it doesn't seem like furious anti-ass activists had anything to do with the switch. For one thing, we hadn't heard any complaints about the ads—quite the opposite, in fact. And as a salesperson at the store pointed out, replacing window decals is expensive, so it would have to take some fairly serious outrage for Calvin to feel compelled to remake its windows.
