East Village Shop Circa Now to Become "Circa Then"

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Cute little East Village boutique Circa Now has been selling labels like Sophomore, Samantha Pleet, and Obesity and Speed for six years now, but they're officially calling it quits this weekend. A sign on the door warns passersby that the store will be closed all week, followed by a giant blowout goodbye sale this Saturday and Sunday, February 20th and 21st. The spirit of Circa Now will linger on in the form of an online shop at circanownyc.com and at Court, the two-year-old Nolita boutique from the store's owners.
