Liveblogging the Shows: Diane von Furstenberg

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

In an effort to make reading Racked NY as much like being in the tents as humanly possible, we'll be liveblogging the shows all week, from the suspense of waiting in line (will the seats be any good?) to the drama of the runway (will anyone stumble?) to the post-show euphoria. This time around: Wearable glamor from Diane von Furstenberg.

Show Location: The Tent at Bryant Park
The Skinny: Diane von Furstenberg gave us a glamour-heavy but wearable collection with lots of metallics, fur, and floaty, draped fabrics.
Celebs Spotted: The celebs do love their DvF. We saw Anna Wintour, André Leon Talley, Salman Rushdie, Molly Sims, Pat Field, Rachel Zoe, Charlie Rose, Tina Brown, Sophia Bush
The Takeaway: Diane von Furstenberg brought out another collection of flattering, quirkily glamorous but casual clothes that look amazing in motion. On the runway the fur waved, the drapey fabrics fluttered, and the sequins and metallics flashed and glittered. For all the luxe touches, though, a lot of the looks managed to be wearable all day, especially the metallic jackets, skirts and trousers. With the abundance of fur and fur-like textures, the show brought together almost all the recent trends without anything screaming "trendy," which speaks well for its potential lifespan.

3:55pm: I'm here! And looking right at André Leon Talley, who is wearing huge shades.

3:57pm: ALT is sitting next to Lee Radziwill, Jackie O's sister. Also in the front row: A bunch of tiny kids. They must be DVF's grandchildren.

3:58pm: I swear there's a woman here wearing a witch hat.

4:00pm: Meanwhile, rumor has it that Peaches Geldof is trying to gate-crash outside.

4:05pm: Molly Sims is here! And Anna Wintour just arrived.

4:08pm: Um, and there's Salman Rushie. Well, he does like models.

4:09pm: Oh, the person in a witch hat is Pat Field. Duh! And now Rachel Zoe and Roger have made their entrance.

4:11pm: Molly Sims is mobbed.

4:14pm: Crucial update: Anna is in red.

4:16pm: Charlie Rose, Tina Brown, Sophia Bush, someone who may or may not be actress Ahn Duong—at this point there is no celebrity we would be surprised to see here.

4:19pm: Suzy Menkes is sitting near Anna. And Bryanboy is in the front row, two seats down from Pat Field and her crazy hat.

4:22pm: Lights out!

4:23pm: The backdrop looks holographic in this light. People are still trying to crowd in.

4:24pm: Loud French music. First look: A giant gray fur hat and jacket covered in roses. (Mary Rambin is livestreaming, by the way.)

4:25pm: Suede elbow patches on a gray cord jacket! Pewter metallic crop jacket! Lots of shimmery silver going on here.

4:26pm: Another furry hat, this time brown. DVF really loves poofy hats. Now we're seeing an adorable metallic skirt with a chartreuse shirt.

4:27pm: A bunch of bright patterns are coming out.

4:28pm: Furry hat #3 is back. And now lots of smoky, floaty chiffon. Ooh, bright gold sequined mini!

4:29pm: Furry wine and black hat following by velvet burnout dress.

4:30pm: Oh wow, one dress looks like it's made of metal feathers in purple, blue and silver.

4:31pm: Metallic striped trousers followed by a thick, fur-looking packed-organza sort of thing.

4:32pm: A model got caught in her long, chiffon draped skirt, which has a gold metallic strapless bodice.

4:33pm: Final look: An all-silver mini-dress.

4:34pm: The parade of metallics looks amazing at the end.

4:35pm: Here comes DVF! Her hair looks incredible.

3:36pm: Aww, flowers from adorable grandkids.
