Once the word "jeggings" entered common parlance, it was pretty much inevitable that the leg would start to swing in the other direction, and now we're starting to see slouchier styles, like these new ones from Current Elliot and Marni. This is Marni designer Consuelo Castiglioni's first denim adventure, and the two labels have combined their powers to create an 8-piece fall collection of the slouchy boyfriend jeans Current Elliot is known for, with an added dose of Marni's intellectual quirkiness.
One pair is attached to a pearl-printed blue cotton shirt to form a onesie that looks like a twosie. Another pair features the signature pearl print on its cuffs. There's also a black cotton tie-belt -- OK, it's a ribbon -- that comes with some of the styles. The styles range from $250 to $500 and will be carried in Marni boutiques starting in June.
WWD reports that Current Elliot's designers, Emily Current and Merritt Elliott, were not involved with the project and declined to comment, but the company's owner, ceo and creative director, Serge Azria said he was thrilled for the opportunity to work with Marni's designer, Consuelo Castiglioni.
