Coach thinks it's missing out on that all-important male demographic, so it's going to rectify that by opening its first men's-only store in the West Village in May in that Ruehl boutique they snapped up. Coach's men's line focuses on bags, specifically business and travel accessories, and the new shop will also offer small leather goods, footwear, outerwear, watches, sunwear, fragrance, and related accessories.
"We view this store as a laboratory where we can handpick pieces and pilot emerging collections, while offering a more intimate and distinctive shopping experience," said Mike Tucci, president of North American retail for Coach. "Today, we are very much of a women's platform, but this gives us the opportunity to create a much more specific men's aesthetic. That’s the mission."
