Just up the block from the newly opened Comptoirs des Cotonniers, the Wink Warehouse sale was in full-blown rummage mode about an hour into the sale this afternoon. The determined shoppers were diligently making their way through womenswear, shoes, and accessories marked up to 80% off. Per usual, the extremely intimate sale takes place in the back of the boutique, where racks and an extra table are smashed into already-limited space. The sale isn't for the faint of heart as you have to get up close and personal with your fellow shoppers, but deals can be found starting at just $5 for Cosabella thongs.
Shiny and silky house-label Wink pieces take up one rack. Prices run $25 for leggings, $40 for skirts and shorts, $45 for tops, $55 for dresses, and $65 for blazers. The racks are full of basic black, but there were a few hot pinks and florals to be found.
The rest of the non-Wink apparel takes up the majority of the sale and prices are designated by cutesy sparkly stars (like the kind you'd be awarded in primary school when you received high marks). Prices start at a blue $25 and top out at a black $200. We noticed a lot of yellow $125 items, including La Rok blinged-out epaulet blazers, a BB Dakota leather jacket, Free People lumberjack-plaid wool coats, and a bunch of flirty cocktail frocks near the register.
We also spotted some $50 Yumi Kim summery dresses (although we'd suggest waiting for her sale next Thursday) and $50 jeans, including Hudson and J. Brand. Scattered across the floor are also bins of basic items priced starting at $20.
As for accessories, all the bags in the back are marked at 50% off. We admired a mid-size Olivia Harris by Joy Gryson python-embellished cross-body bag (now $147.50), a Foley & Corinna city pouch (now $122.50), and a gray slashed-leather-and-mesh Nanette Lepore tote (now $247.50). Shoes include labels like Dolce Vita, House of Harlow, and Ash and prices start around $75.
Note: In the low lighting, it is kind of hard to discern between the $50 pink and the $75 red stars, so we'd suggest asking a staffer for clarification before you get too excited over a pair of $50 shoes. There are two fitting rooms at the back and as always, the staffers are friendly and helpful.
