Urban Outfitters has been conquering new neighborhood right and left this year: They opened a Manhattan Valley location in August and an Upper East Side location in August, and now they're officially coming to Fifth Avenue.
This isn't quite the same thing as Forever 21 opening in the old Takashimaya space, though. Rather than infiltrating a segment of Fifth known for its high-end shopping, Urban is taking up residence on the corner of 43rd and Fifth, just north of Bryant Park. And since there's already an Urban at Third Avenue and 59th Street, this isn't even the first time Urban's opened in midtown. Still, it's significant for anyone who works or lives near Bryant Park and needs a place to pick up dresses or sweaters on the cheap. Look out for the official opening this Friday, December 10.
