Is This the Worst Holiday Pop-Up Shop Job of All?

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

If seeing these pics of Kim Kardashian presiding alongside two bears and a little drummer boy at the opening of the Charmin public restrooms Pop-Up didn't make you embarrassed enough for other people this week, then please observe Charmin's latest spokesgirl, above.

Walk down 42nd Street between 6th and 7th Avenues, and just beyond the Pop Tarts World Pop-Up and across from Conde Nast, you'll hear her cheery voice proclaiming, "Let's talk toilets!" That is, if you aren't totally distracted by her commode costume and the little jig she does in it.

Were you thankful for lots of stuff on Thanksgiving? Here's something else to add: be thankful for the fact that you are not a seasonal employee of a pop-up shop targeted at tourists, especially if all you're selling is the concept of comfy toilet paper.
