It may be too late to have your picture taken in the seasonal window of Marc Jacobs' Women's store on Bleecker Street, but those who did will go with memories to last a lifetime...or at least until another of MJ's picture windows.
Here's what happened: if you meandered by the shop anytime before the holiday, you (or your dog, or your child, or your landlord) could join one of the MJ staff?decked out in a white afro and silver sequined Marc Jacobs Collection dress?for a little impromptu photoshoot. It was free and those who were game walked away with a print, but the store reserved the right to print a double and plaster your mug up on their windows.
We managed to catch the action just before everything came down, and we're wondering why?with an ice palace theme?it couldn't continue through the New Year, especially now since the weather is so complimentary. Ah well?the next non-denominational MJ picture window should pop up in spring, coincidentally just in time for Easter.
