Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Early reports are trickling in from the exclusive, invite-only Rodarte sale taking place today at the Ace Hotel. According to Mizhattan, prices are "surprisingly reasonable," but there's only one rack of RTW. Jewelry runs $30 to $80, white fur-trimmed socks (yup, you read that right) are only $30, a fur bolero is going for $300, and Nicholas Kirkwood shoes are $500. Given the small quantity of merchandise, though, she thought it probably wasn't worth the trip.

But a reader in the comments section of our most recent Alexander Wang update sounds a lot more positive:

Forget the Alexander Wang Sale, the Rodarte at the Ace Hotel is kicking ass! If you didn't get a reply for the RSVP, just walk straight in and go straight to the elevator. 10th floor, room 1011. They are only checking names at the hotel's front desk and once your name is verified on the list they tell you the room number.
Prices are amazing!! LOTS of $50 sample items but they are all running very small, sizes 0-2. Most dresses are going for $200 and only a small amount of pieces are going for $500 and up. There is only one rack and a very small selection of clothes (I don't even think there was 20 pieces hanging on that rack).
Socks are going for $30, and a lot of the t-shirts for the Barneys Breathless re-issue collab are going for $50. Shoes are all $500. About four skirts going for $50, and one I remember going for $400. Only a few dress going for over $1000. There were some necklaces on the table, not sure how much they were going for, but most of them were cheap looking and ugly.
Staff is amazing and extremely nice! I was the first person in the room and five minutes after me it was already packed. So luckily for me I was able to grab the most stuff for $50-$200. (I walked out with two dresses for $200, two shirts for $50, and two Breathless Rodarte shirts for $50). The couple of girls after me also walked out with a lot stuff, so I am assuming all the goodies are gone and there is now only shoes and expensive stuff left.
We're not sure whether to be impressed by her ingenuity and fortitude or extremely jealous; either way, nice work.
