We dropped into the one-day Rachel Comey sale during the post–lunch-hour mid-afternoon lull and still found a plentiful and varied selection of footwear to peruse. We overheard a staffer say that the initial crowd was quite a doozy, but the room was quite quiet and manageable when we stopped by. (The Choosy Beggar covered the menswear selection pretty well earlier, so if you missed that, here it is.)
Let's start with the signature seasonal clog styles: The forest green suede Bernard ankle bootie is $225 (from $468), the Beaufort clog mules are $172 (from $345), the grey and cream ankle-strap Pompano is $190 (from $364.)
We also saw the studded Barbaro booties in black and cream for $184 (from $352), lace-up mid-calf boots for $213, tall boots for $213, the open-toed Ipswich oxford wedges for $172 (from $345), and the Sazerac croc-textured tapered heel boot is $213 (from $385).
There are also a few $60 bins that feature that signature clog sandal amongst other summery (and some beat-up) looks, but the sizes are mostly nines and up, although we found a stray size eight or two.
The clothes were largely ignored, but there are two sections: Racks where $100 buys you one piece and $250 buys you three, and then more elaborate pieces toward the back that ring in around $200+. There are also two saddle bags on tap: $260 for large and $150 for the small.
Cash and credit are accepted and the staffers are very helpful and friendly. They also seem to really want to unload because there is also a gift of a random clothing item with purchase. Nice touch though! With almost four hours left until 8pm, a pair of clog booties just might be calling your name.
