When former Lucky editor Kim France left the magazine, she left behind some pretty fabulous editorial perks, including regular Friday afternoon raids on the makeup closet. Today in Slate, she lays out the kind of beauty product wisdom that can only be gleaned through ten years of trying out freebies. Since Slate is dedicated to counter-intuitive news analysis articles and not fashion writing, they've titled the essay "Is Shampoo Worth $140 a Tub?"
