If props from this year's holiday windows at Bergdorf Goodman and Lord & Taylor accidentally got mixed together, the result would be the seasonal display at Saks Fifth Avenue. The theme: A little girl gets into her parents' knick-knacks cabinet and imagines a fantasy world full of bubbles and snowflakes. The windows borrow Bergdorf's sense of romantic whimsy, with well-dressed mannequins vamping in enchanted forests and undersea kingdoms. But they also feature child mannequins who resemble the cutesy kids in Lord & Taylor's Christmas vignettes.

Despite the mash-up of influences, though, several features make the windows stand out from the rest of the city's department store displays. First, Saks commissioned one-of-a-kind dresses from labels like Alexander McQueen and Oscar de la Renta for its mannequins to wear. Second, there's a celebrity factor: One of the windows includes a dress worn by Lady Gaga. And third, there's the fact that everything is very deliberately non-denominational. After all, who doesn't love bubbles and snowflakes?

The store even organized a bubble-and-snowflake–themed light show a la Ralph Lauren's 4D extravaganza last month. Watch it in the video below:
