Project No.8's Teeny Tiny Tribeca Pop-up

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We're gonna be up front and honest here: We still haven't actually set foot in Project No.8's five-day-old holiday pop-up in Tribeca. It's only open Wednesdays to Sundays (noon to 7pm), and we stopped by on a Tuesday. That said, it's so small we still feel like we still managed to see all of it from the Duane Street sidewalk. We're not exaggerating: It's comparable in size to the walk-in-closet in a late-20th century McMansion's master bedroom (or the second, smaller bedroom in an $1900-a-month East Village walk-up).

It's cute, though: A rack of chic print dresses; a bank of floating white shelves laden with gift books, Margiela shoe boxes, chunky jewelry and fine leather bags; plus a case of baubles and wallets. Our favorites: The window full of adorable knit pigeons (they're alpaca!) feeding on a pile of sunshine yellow hard candies—useless but joyous!
