Stella McCartney's Target line launched Friday—but only in Australia. The Recessionista's Melbourne correspondent reported crowds so big that she couldn't even reach the clothing amid a festival atmosphere fueled by free champagne. The pieces were cut small, she says, but the quality seemed high—which is only fair, given that prices ranged up to $300 Australian (or very slightly less in American cash.)
Here in New York, we're deprived not only of free booze at Target launches but also of the clothes themselves, which aren't available on the chain's US website. This is, of course, where eBay comes in. The prices aren't cheap and the selection isn't huge, but as of this writing there are 40 pieces from the collection available online. Expect to pay around $30 for shipping, give or take.
