Steven Alan, Fern Mallis, and Tucker designer Gaby Basora are all gathered in a conference room at FIT. No, it's not Fashion Week redux or the beginning to an inappropriate bar joke, it's Afingo's "Behind the Seams" day-long forum event. This Friday, October 8, the online fashion community networking site is holding a full-day series of five panels dedicated to those wishing to break into or move ahead in the fashion industry. The day will feature a mix of 30 designers, fashion executives, print and online editors, and trendsetters who will offer their experiences and insight on hot topics from launching your own fashion line to marketing to sustainability in fashion.
Keeping the attendees' schedules and budgets in mind, there is the option of purchasing entry tickets to single panels for $49 (plus a $3.68 processing fee), as opposed to the $249 (plus $14.69) all-day fee. Also, a portion of each entry fee will also benefit the Save the Garment District organization.
