Soiffer Haskin's MaxMara sale opened this morning to a line of some 200 people—many more than we've come to expect at the Italian sportswear label's sales, which are usually pretty relaxed events. Blogger Mizhattan, who was equally surprised by the crowd, wound up waiting for two hours to get in. And once inside, she wasn't hugely impressed. There's a lot of clothing at this sale, but not a lot of diversity, and many of her fellow line-waiters left without buying anything.
The news isn't all negative, though: Mizhattan reports a wide range of sizes (zero to 16) and totally reasonable pricing. Sample shoes are going for $59 and $79, while non-samples are $99 for shoes and $129 for boots. Bag prices are equally respectable: Mizhattan reports numbers like $128 and $255. She doesn't have prices on clothing, but she does warn about strict dressing room rules: You're allowed no more than eight pieces of clothing and two coats at one time. But again, that's not totally unreasonable—when your clothing pile tops ten, it's probably time to start trying things on anyway.
