A walk past the future Columbus Avenue Rag & Bone this afternoon didn't reveal much, if any, progress on the old restaurant space at all. The old Peter's storefront and signage are still there in their former glory, although notices have appeared on the tattered brown paper covered windows requesting job applications. There is also a poster for the label's Nolita outpost anti-tagging art contest.
A call to the main Rag & Bone office confirmed that the new outpost will only take up one side of the now-defunct Peters. That leaves the other half for another business that, from the looks of it, is much farther ahead in renovations. Considering the belated but eventual opening of the Nolita Rag & Bone, a delay up here isn't that much of a surprise. The person we spoke to gave us a pretty loose "two weeks or so, but can't give a date" projected opening timeframe, but that sounds pretty ambitious. From the looks of it, the UWS will have to wait a bit longer for some Anglo-centric Americana. Stay tuned.
