You've been patient, ladies, and we thank you. To show you our gratitude, here's your Gant sample sale report. The most pertinent information: Lots of cashmere and a fair amount of true stock which means multiples of certain styles and a slightly wider array of sizes. Pin a bunch of roses on your noses.
The womenswear area is south of the menswear space and still pretty attractively merchandised. Makes sense: We can see men being more fanatical (read: maniacal) then women at a Gant event—sample sale anomaly or not.
You'll find all the prim broadcloth oxfords ($29) and girl-shaped stripey polos ($25 to $29) you'd expect lining the walls; but also keep your eyes peeled for a selection of sexy librarian blouses in geometric silks with ruffled collars ($29), irreverent tweedy blazers ($75) and some simple party dresses ($45, and $75 for the "fancy" ones)—a sort-of leopard print and a floral comprised of tiny sequins both stand out.
Oh, did we mention the cashmere? There is a lot of it—mostly v-neck pullovers in saturated Crayola colors ($45, wool and cotton sweaters are $35). And don't miss the stacks and stacks of scarves—silky pin dots alongside woolly houndstooths ($15).
So, yeah—prices are great (check the gallery for a full list), colorful stock is piled high, and rumor has it shelves will be restocked. The sale runs through Friday (check back then for further slashed prices), it's on the 11th floor and credit cards are accepted.
