Luxe Italian outerwear shop Napapijri has closed down on Mercer Street. The Shophound suggests looking at the abandoned storefront as a sort of guinea pig for the neighborhood: "The brand is leaving a healthy-sized shop on a particularly desirable block of Mercer Street (Marc Jacobs, Costume National, Vera Wang, Marni etc.). How long that newly available space remains empty should say a great deal about the current state of Manhattan retail." [The Shophound]
