The retail stores and style blogs of the world are gearing up for Valentine's Day—because where would any of us be without a holiday to get ready for—and Cintra Wilson joined in by visitng two kinky lingerie stores in one story. First she dropped by Kiki de Montparnasse and was impressed by a decadent, highbrow vibe "designed to be alluring even to the rich, uptight and squeamish." We're not totally sure what that means, but it involves moany French lounge music and salesladies who "resemble Anaïs Nin, lipstick feminist, sexual adventuress types." It was so adamantly haute that Agent Provocateur looked like "Victoria's Secret by way of Johnny Rockets" comparison, and she even made us feel bad for liking it. (BTW, there's a sale going on down there if you aren't too cowed.) However, she did discover that you can ask the Agent Provocateur salesladies to try things on for you, and they will do it. Good to know! [NYT]
