Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Brand team-ups seem to be doing good things for Liberty of London's brand, as the U.K. label known for its printed patterns is becoming a household name over here thanks to multiple collabs all launching at the same time. Back in August we told you about their upcoming partnership with Target, which rolls out on March 14 and we are still totally stoked for, and then the brand paired with MAC Cosmetics for a heavily spring-inspired makeup palette. And now they bring us another completely not seasonally appropriate monster shoe via Nicholas Kirkwood.

Kirkwood created the shoes as part of a celebration of Liberty's 50th anniversary. He took two of his signature shoe designs and selected a pair of exuberant Liberty fabrics to cover them with. If, like us, you did not check the weather this morning and are now seriously regretting your snow-crusted stilettos, you are probably thinking, "Cute, but..." But just remember Hawaii is out there somewhere. We can dream, right?
