Are you wearing American Apparel nail polish? Then maybe don't lick your fingers. Jezebel reports that the company has been pulling its new line of bright-colored varnish from stores, and giving conflicting reasons why. In an email to employees, the company blames "quality issues with the glassware," but a store worker told Jezebel,
We were also informed on the backstock conference call [Monday] that the nail polish is now considered 'hazardous material' and can no longer be shipped. We will be informed tomorrow [Tuesday] during store conference call how to 'dispose of the material.'Ironically, one of the line's selling points was its lack of DBP, toluene, and formaldehyde—three toxic chemicals often found in nail polish.
