Dumbo wasn't exactly crying out for another candy store, but that hasn't stopped local resident Alison “Dewey” Oblonsky from opening up a Jacques Torres challenger. The Brooklyn Paper writes that her shop, Dewey's, "caters more to candy-loving grown-ups than kids, stocking an armory of nostalgic treats like Wax Lips and Fun Dip in addition to standard fare like Snickers bars." So far, business is booming, suggesting that when candy shops compete, everybody wins. [BP]
