The first wave of the spring/summer +J collection has been at Uniqlo for about a week now, so we thought we'd drop in for an update yesterday afternoon. (Plus we were experiencing a little buyer's remorse: cream cotton cashmere cardigan + propensity for spilling red wine = return). The line and crowds are gone, but the room is still filled with a high ratio of staff to shoppers. The racks on the main floor are arranged with non-sale display items and the actual goods for purchase are located along the walls.
Uniqlo received a new shipment yesterday, and it looks like the matching pencil skirts ($39.50) arrived in cream, khaki and black. Sadly, the women's grey trench is out of stock, but there is still plenty of the dark denim. A staffer pointed out that the black version of the mens' trench came in recently; with less chaos around us, we also spotted a sleek two-toned blue hooded men's bomber for $99.50. We noticed a sprinkling of "Japan size" items mixed into the menswear racks, too.
The arrival date of the second wave of +J is still a bit of mystery. One staffer said the last week of February and another predicts the first two weeks of March. We'll be further investigating to find out exact dates. Stay tuned.
