FRANCE—Marc Jacobs will be knighted by the French government! Sadly, the more we look into this news, the less exciting it gets. Jacobs will be inducted into the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres alongside Nathalie Rykiel, the president of Sonia Rykiel, which her mother founded. But the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres has only been around since 1957, and it includes such fierce warriors as Bob Dylan, Kylie Minogue, and Jude Law. We're not even sure members get to be called "Sir." Whatever—from now on, he'll always be Sir Marc to us. [WWD]
WILLIAMSBURG—Tonight, join Brooklyn-area artists and designers for a Save Haiti Fundraiser & Silent Auction at Night Owl (140 N. Fourth St.) A $30 donation gets you in the door and ready to enjoy five hours of open bar (beer and wells) plus a litany of deejays and musical performances. Various fashion designers including Love Brigade, Alisha Trimble, SHAG Brooklyn and Brooklyn Royalty have donated wares for a silent auction. The party starts at 7pm and all proceeds benefit relief efforts in Haiti.—Frank Gargione [RackedWire]
