THE JERSEY SHORE AND BEYOND—Our favorite article of the week might be this look at Jersey Shore style from the LA Times. The paper puts all those Ed Hardy shirts and all that processed hair into historical context, tracing it back to Saturday Night Fever and even citing a paper on the topic —"Guido: Fashioning an Italian-American Youth Style"—by a sociology professor in Queens. If you're as pleased as we are by the news that someone somewhere could be getting a PhD in Snooki Studies, then you'll be equally glad to know that JWoww's drapey yellow shirt (you know, the one that seems to defy gravity every other night at Karma) is available on her website. As JWoww herself puts it: "Remember you don't want to be that person at the club that see's someone else wearing the same thing?" [LAT; JWoww]
WEST VILLAGE—Today's the final day in the life of Biography, the Bleecker Street bookstore that's being turned into a Marc Jacobs. The shop will live on under a new name (Bookbook) and in a new location (266 Bleecker), but that doesn't make their goodbye note any less poignant. [VNY]
