WILLIAMSBURG—Calling all tattoo fetishists! Stop by Cameo Gallery (93 N. 6th between Berry and White) tonight to celebrate the release of Tatted, a new book by Marianne Bernstein and GritCityInc featuring photographs of and stories from members of Philadelphia's thriving tattoo culture. Roving, tattooed models will be showing off the fall 2010 collection of mens' streetwear by Brooklyn Royalty, who will be selling a very limited array of tee shirts commemorating tonight's festivities. Music will be provided by Williamsburg mainstays Finger on the Pulse; beer will be provided by PBR—another Williamsburg mainstay. A private media event begins at 7pm but at 8pm doors open to all ink fans.—Frank Gargione [RackedWire]
LOWER EAST SIDE—Update on PPF's sale in support of Haiti! Yesterday, we reported that the consignment shop would be donating 100% of proceeds to Doctors Without Borders, but now owner Alice Chan tells us they've switched charities to the Red Cross. Your job remains the same, however: Shop up Friday between 5pm and 8pm or Saturday from noon to 7 and buy fabulous clothing for insanely low prices in order to support a very worthy cause.
