LOWER EAST SIDE AND NOLITA—It's time again for hip menswear tradeshow Capsule, which brings independent designers together with retailers and media people. Don't feel left out if you don't fit into any of those three categories, though: They've built in a shopping component for civilians called the Neighborhood Network. Today and tomorrow, get all sorts of juicy deals and and freebies at stores within the network, including Acne, Gargyle, Steven Alan, and many more. Check out the map on their website for the full range of participants and perks. [Capsule]
LOWER EAST SIDE—In response to generous donations from friends and family, new consignment store PPF will be holding a fundraiser sale to raise money for the Haiti earthquake victims on Friday, January 22nd from 5pm-8pm and Saturday, January 23rd from 12pm-7pm. Select menswear and womenswear items will be on sale for $2 to $15 and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders. Since owner Alice Chan comes from a fashion background and her closet supplies a good amount of the store inventory, we have a feeling that her friends have equally fabulous closets. If nothing else, it's for a good cause. This fundraiser will be the start of a regular charity events going forward, too.—Fawnia Soo Hoo [RackedWire]
