Tonight Mayor Bloomberg's office will kick off its planned yearlong fashion-industry-saving initiative, Fashion 2020, with a massive brainstorming session at Macy's. The Fashion 2020 program intends to build and cement the industry's position in New York for the next ten years. Tonight's event will feature a panel discussion between Terry Lundgren, the CEO of Macy's; Diane von Furstenberg; Gilt Groupe founder Kevin Ryan; and Rick Darling, president of the U.S. division of Li & Fung. We'll keep an ear out and let you know if they come up with anything brilliant. [WWD, subscription required]
