Storecasting: Hickey Freeman Isn't Done Yet

The Shophound reports that Hickey Freeman, which just closed its Soho boutique, plans to open another store sometime early next year. We're told that Hickey has no location in mind yet, but that the company shuttered the Soho shop expressly because it wanted to relocate. Since rents are down, the thinking went, Hickey should leave Soho and put the store's merchandise in storage until a better option came along. In the meantime, they're hosting a sample sale this Thursday at 745 Fifth Avenue at which fall 2009 menswear will be 80% off.
