NEW YORK: "Inappropriately Dressed" is the theme behind Brooklyn painter Charlotta Janssen's new exhibition at Shelter Island's Boltax.gallery. As Diane Pernet notes, there are many ways in which one can be inappropriately dressed: "for the season, for one’s age, for an event – and it can be slightly embarrassing, or in the case of Janssen’s paintings, it can be both awkward and revelatory." The show opens Thursday and runs through August 31st. [ASVOF]
