Store Sidekicks: Gary the Brussels Griffon at Bird

We first met Gary, a year-old Brussels Griffon, at the Bird on Grand Street in Williamsburg. Then his owner, who works in the Bird office, switched to the Smith street store, so Gary made the move to Carroll Gardens. He fits the Bird aesthetic extremely well. Like the mini-chain's collection of Rachel Comey, 3.1 Phillip Lim, and A.P.C., he's quirky but classic—a little twee, but good twee. (He's a tiny dog named Gary, for Pete's sake!)

Gary fairly vibrates with small-dog energy, racing around the store and spending as much time as possible on his hind legs. Park Slope isn't his regular beat, of course, but if you're lucky, you'll get a glimpse of him at this weekend's clearance sale at the Bird on 5th Avenue, prancing around like a wee friendly gremlin. (And if you go, tell us what you think. We weren't blown away by the sale selection on Smith, but then, we were also distracted by the dog.)
