It can be hard to remember that the Olsen twins—a matched set of big-eyed pixies draped in loose-fitting robes and the invisible fabric of super-fame—are really just 23-year-old sisters who like clothes. Cathy Horyn's big profile of the two in today's Style section both humanizes them and explains the appeal of their two lines, The Row and Elizabeth & James. Basically, it really is all about good design. “I don’t think anybody really cares that it’s Mary-Kate and Ashley’s collection,” says Julie Gilhart, the fashion director of Barneys New York, talking about the Row. “They’re buying it because they like it.” [NYT]
