Once you've buzzed up to the Temperley London sample sale and checked your bag at the front, it's as if you've been welcomed into your fashionable friend's posh Soho loft. The sale is organized by size, with two racks each of sizes 4 through 8 and one rack each for sizes 2 and 10/12. There are also two sample racks in the back at 80% off. Gorgeous dresses average around $450—from flirty, flowy, bejeweled cocktail frocks to studded embellished numbers that hit the fall trends. There are also plenty of pretty separates including silk embellished tops ($328.50 down from $1095), tunic sweaters, and fun fringed cropped jackets ($509 down from $1695). The prices on the regular racks don't differ than much from the prices of the samples, so hit the former first.
Sadly, most of the anticipated leather pieces are long gone, but there are a few sexy, pretty, ruffled medieval leather vests in sizes 4 and 8 ($397.50 from $1325) and also a few leather jackets scattered in various sizes. If you're a size 6 and in the market for black leather pants for fall, then you're in luck ($499 from $1995)! There are also a few puff-sleeved black leather dresses in sizes 4 and 6 for $831, down from $2779.
Accessories are probably the biggest deal. Leather bags start at $99 for a studded white leather pouch (in the samples section), range to $296 for a black-and-smoke gold-clasp clutch, and go up to $395 for a black croc pattern and suede-detailed shoulder bag (down from $1450). Belts start at $72 for woven styles; look out for some rocker studded samples for $95. There's a communal dressing room, and staffers are very friendly and helpful in assisting sample salers to put together looks.—Fawnia Soo Hoo
