RackedWire: Jimmy Choo Descends on Chelsea Again; Charlotte Ronson Co-Hosts Housing Works Event

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

CHELSEA—This Wednesday, the Jimmy Choo sale comes back to the Metropolitan Pavilion. Of course, Racked will be on hand to document all the insanity. Will we see the return of April's six-hour line? Not if Madison Avenue Spy has anything to do with it. She digs up the video, above, as a cautionary tale, and adds her own expert advice: "We are told that this week's sale will be priced up to 70% off. As of July, the boutique discounted shoes 65% off. We suggest skipping the long sample sale wait, hitting the boutique or waiting until H&M launches their collaboration line with Jimmy Choo, in November." [MAS]

TRIBECA—Housing Works has been hosting events curated by fashion types for a while now, but tomorrow night's might be the first that features real live designers. Allure fashion director Michael Carl curated the event, the theme of which is "Last Days of Summer," and he got Charlotte Ronson and Shoshanna Gruss to help him. From 6pm to 9pm at 119 Chambers Street, check out a collection of dog-days beach gear. (You can preview the good starting at 10am tomorrow at the Housing Works website). Do note that if you buy anything, you'll get a Completely Bare gift card good for $50 worth of waxing or $200 of laser hair removal. [Racked Inbox]
