Opening Ceremony is opening an enormous megastore in Japan. The 50,000-square-foot store will open August 30 in Tokyo's trendy Shibuya district, offering eight floors of shops including Alexander Wang, Boy by Band of Outsiders, The Row, and Trash and Vaudeville. Each floor will have a theme, says Opening Ceremony co-founder Humberto Leon. "Going through the store is kind of like getting a tour of American architecture throughout the ages—like, the first floor is Santa Fe/Southwestern, then there's a floor referencing sixties modernist architecture, and another one that's seventies hippie...."
