Rei Kawakubo's crush on a model of Converse All-Stars designed for the US Army in the 1950s has lead Comme des Garçons to collaborate with the sneaker brand on four new styles. The follow-up to Comme's collab with Converse in Japan, the shoes will hit stores at the end of the month (expect them in the label's own boutiques and anywhere that sells Comme des Garçon Play.) Adds WWD: "Comme des Garçons isn’t the only high-fashion brand with which Converse is aligning itself: The company plans collaborations with Missoni and (N)umber (N)ine later this fall." [WWD]
