Cintra Wilson got in hot water yesterday with a Critical Shopper column filled with jibes about JC Penney's sizing (she went so far as to call the mannequins obese). Around 6pm last night, she posted an apology on her blog explaining, per the Cut, "that the review was positive and that she loves fat people." By 6:45pm, that apology had come down (you can find it in Jezebel's comments section) and was replaced by this:

You know I didn't mean it that way, so please remove the knot from your panties and when you're ready, join me for a cigarette and several Pucker martinis at the insouciant end of the pool, and I'll tell you all about the time I inadvertently alienated my best friend for a year when I wrote an article about her wedding.
Commenters did not take this well—some thoughtfully took time out from complaining about the shallowness of the review to pass down judgment on Wilson's own appearance—and some time later another mea culpa appeared.

This time, it's more politic:

I very much regret that my article caused any wounded feelings whatsoever, particularly to people who already feel they take more than their share of abuse from our very shallow and ridiculous society. My insensitivity to this, and the extent to which my article exacerbated these feelings is a very real failure on my end for which I sincerely apologize.
Wilson, who recently called the $53 price tag on Vince's tank tops "viscerally obscene," never holds back in her reviews, but of course, JC Penney shoppers get a lot of crap from society that Vince shoppers don't have to deal with. In any case, nothing Wilson's going to say will make a difference at this point, so she's probably best off spending the day far away from the Internet.
