Like a record-and-DVD-selling caterpillar that spins itself a chrysalis in order to make its transformation into a beautiful discount butterfly, the Virgin Megastore space in Union Square is now shrouded in plywood in anticipation of its rebirth as a Nordstrom Rack. We're glad the place is turning over relatively quickly—it was a little spooky seeing that corner empty.
