Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

After a 20-minute delay, the Cynthia Rowley sample sale finally opened as the staff was still bringing in items. The highlights are definitely dresses, with prices ranging from $49 for a black spaghetti strap dress to $199 for a long mesh sleeve black dress. Most are at the $79 price point . The go-to frocks included a cut-out shoulder navy belted dress—great to transition into fall—for $79 and a short sleeved blue, green and black detailed dress for a mere $55. There are a few sequin skirts ranging from $69-$89 and various flirty separates. Sizes range from 2-10.

There is a limited selection of forward thinking fall purchases like a blazer with a cutout back in khaki or black for $59. There are also alpaca blend sweater coats in black and grey for $109 and some cashmere sweaters and vests in pink and khaki for $49. Sizes for the cool weather items are mostly large (ha to you, Cintra Wilson!)

There were only a handful of bags (from $189 for the oversize clutch to $279 for a chain link shoulder bag) and a smattering of random accessories. The sample sale does not include shoes, but there are shoes on sale, plus a bin of colorful $39 belts, in the main section of the store, so may be worth checking out. Happy shopping! It was worth the wait!—Fawnia Soo Hoo
