Over in Red Hook, developer Joe Sitt is knocking down the lone remaining building at the old Revere Sugar Refinery site. Last we heard, the location was going to become the greatest mall Brooklyn has ever known, complete with a giant BJs Wholesale Club—but that final building was supposed to be a key part of the construction. Does this mean the mall is canceled? Will Red Hook have to stop dreaming of BJs and content itself with having just one measly big-box discount store? The Brooklyn Paper thinks so, but our optimistic sibling site Curbed has other ideas. Maybe this will just make construction cheaper!
