JC Penney officially opens in the Manhattan Mall at the end of the month, but the first piece of merchandise has already been put out on the sales floor. How do we know? Because the good people at JC Penney filmed it, and sent us the YouTube link. Above, watch as the first employee to arrive on move-in day gets rewarded for her zeal with the sacred duty of placing a sheet set on a shelf. JC Penney also threw in some shots of the store's empty insides, although they made the strangely un-NYC choice of setting those clips to country music. Still, we're pretty won over by the sheer, unbridled enthusiasm on display here. When the supervisor unboxes the first box, everyone applauds.
