Avant-garde womenswear store Project No. 8 gained a sibling last Friday in No. 8b, which now sits open on Orchard and Hester, just where the boutiques and cafés of the Lower East Side turn into the run-down shops of Chinatown. Inside, the store is utterly minimalist save for an island in the middle with beach chairs and leafy plants. The clothing covers the same innovative ground as the women's store, with menswear by labels like Maison Martin Margiela, Bless, and Natalia Brilli, plus accessories like Raf Simons Eastpak bags and a whole host of fancy sneakers. We especially liked the little black price tabs next to the shoes, which added a nice, museum-y touch.
